
Building on the success of the SB20 World Championships 2023, the 2025 Europeans is set to return to the North Sea in 2025, this time in Ostend, Belgium. Hosted by the Royal North Sea Yacht Club (RNSYC) from August 18th to 22th, the event promises to deliver the same thrilling sailing experiences that competitors enjoyed so much in Scheveningen.

RNSYC's events include an array of sailing Classes from ILCA and Europe's to Finns and Dragons in addition to the locally popular SB20. The SB20 class has a strong growing presence in Belgium, with the RNSYC at the forefront of fostering its growth. Local events, such as the Brugse Zot Cup, have drawn enthusiastic participation, with sailors enjoying Ostend’s wind patterns and scenic backdrop. With 30 boats from Belgium and the Netherlands already pre-registered and international teams expected to join, the SB20 European Championship is not to be missed in 2025!
What to Expect in 2025
The SB20 Europeans 2025 will bring together some of the best sailors in the class for five days of competitive racing. With a mix of local and international teams, the competition promises to be fierce, once again, challenging the best in the Class. International teams are welcome to join the fleet, which might be particularly attractive to those who couldn’t make it to the recent overseas championships in Dubai (2024) and Singapore (2025). The proximity of Ostend offers a more accessible option for many European teams helping to build a robust turnout.
